Dorset caravan parks ‘more popular after TV show’

A Channel 4 show has helped to stir interest in caravan parks in Dorset, according to one firm in the area.

Owners of caravan parks in Dorset have claimed there has been a surge in interest in their services following the airing of Channel 4 show A Place By The Sea.

Martin Cox, of West Dorset Leisure Holidays, told View Online that there has been a noticeable increase in enquiries after the show.

He revealed that his firm is not the only one to have felt the effects of the programme, as he claimed that conversations with other caravan park owners in the area indicate a similar improvement in trade.

"I'm sure the Channel 4 programme has played a part, together with the decision by many people to avoid going abroad this year and to make it another staycation summer," he stated.

Over the course of the television show, a couple looked round properties in Dorset but ended up opting for a timber lodge in a park on Burton Bradstock.

Earlier this year, what might be the world's smallest caravan was unveiled in the form of the QTvan. The mobile home is tiny enough to be towed by a mobility scooter.
